The Khayelitsha Project Wins The AMSA Global Health Council’s Choice Award For 2012

Earlier this week UTH members Claire Morrow, Tim Beckman and David Hill traveled to Cairns for the Australian Medical Students Assocation Global Health Conference. The conference brought together hundreds of Australian medical students who share a passion for global health.

The academic program featured national and international experts on significant social, political and economic determinants of health. At the event, UTH was given an opportunity to showcase their Khayelitsha Project to the AMSA Global Health Council. It was a fantastic opportunity to present and discuss our project with likeminded individuals. We are extremely grateful to be awarded the 2012 AMSA Global Health Council Choice award for best student health club project.

Along with the award came a $500 prize which will be directed to the continual funding of the Khayelitsha Project. Thank you AMSA for a great conference.
