This weekend is held annually and aims to bring together 60 health students from the four QLD rural health clubs – HOPE4HEALTH, TROHPIQ, BUSHFIRE and RHINO – for a weekend of networking, skills sessions and fostering of future careers in a rural setting.

In 2013, this event saw 60 dentistry, medical, midwifery, nursing, paramedic, physiotherapy and speech pathology converge on Emerald, QLD. The trip featured a Trade Show, dinners with prominent local health professionals nightly and clinical skills workshops held at Emerald Hospital including neonatal resuscitation, umbilical cord cannulation, interosseous infusion, emergency medicine and dermoscopy. There was even time for students to try their luck fossicking for gold!

Previous weekends have been held in Stanthorpe, Atherton, Rockhampton, and Beaudesert.
