The Teddy Bear Hospital Project was run in the community of Cherbourg for the first time in 2008. Teddy Bear Hospital aims to promote healthy living through a series of interactive workshops. The progam is being expanded to include a 'health careers' expo for older primary students approaching high school. It will focus on helping primary school students to understand the roles and duties of people working in the health care industry. This program aims to encourage Indigenous children to consider themselves as the Doctors, Dentists, Nurses and Health workers of the future
